$100 isn't going to get you a very good set of binos. If you want great glass, you have to pay for it. I really love my Nikon Monarch binos. Check eBay and you can occasionally find an awesome deal on some great binos.

If you don't mind carrying around a couple of extra ounces I think that the Brunton Lite Tech bino's are every bit as clear as my Leupold Cascade, and Nikon Monarch binoculars. I can't really speak to their longevity as I have only had them for a year, and they have only made one real rugged trip (elk hunting in Colorado), but they do have a limited lifetime warranty. They usually sell for around $100-$150.
Other than that I would make the jump to the Leupold Cascades, or the Nikon Monarchs.....from there you can really make a jump to the gold ring Leupold's, Zeiss, and Swarovski's.

save your money until you can afford some quality glass.

Yeah unfortunately with optics you generally get what you pay for. However I think that Nikon offers the best glass for the money. If you look on ebay, or the classifieds here you can sometimes find a good deal. I got a pair last year off ebay for 150 bucks when they were retailing for about 300. Just gotta keep on the lookout.

If I were you I would look at some bushnells.

Binos for under $100

I just purchased a set of Zhumel Short Barrel Binnoculars 8x42 and I love them. I got them on ebay new for $79.00 and Binnoculars.com has them for $89.00. They are multicoated BaK4 roof prisums. Very clear for the money.

+1 you won't regret it and a good set of optics should last a lifetime

Nikon probably would have the best optics for your money. A quality pair of binoculars will last forever. You need to decide the conditions your going to be using them in and not just make a hasty decision. I have a back woods pair for low light and a 2nd pair for hunting power lines, gas lines and open fields.

I bought a pair of the Nikon Monarchs last year and love them. Got them off of Ebay for $249.00 w/ free shipping. 10x42's in Realtree camo, brand new.
