RE: Toyota Tundra
I currently own an '08 Tundra and can honestly say it's the best truck I've ever driven. I test drove Dodge, Chevy, and Ford (my truck of choice before driving the Tundra) and none can compete when comparing horsepower, mpg, payload, comfort and stability. It's a great package! I really wanted to buy an American-made product but these days the Tundra is as American-made as the FordF-150and Chevy Silverado! [:o]

RE: Toyota Tundra
I agree on the power, but the Tundra is not the most fuel-efficient of the ones you mentioned, so I'm curious as to why you said mpg.
|
RE: Toyota Tundra
I'm simply stating that it is IMO, the most complete package that a truck has to offer. There are trucks with more hp and trucks that get better mpg, but none that I know about that offer 381hp with 401lb-ft. of torque at 18 mpg.:D

RE: Toyota Tundra
I have an 05 with 80+ thousand miles on it and have never hada problem. I do the regular maint myself and have taken it back to Toyota for 2 of the major maint schedules. I beat the crap out of this truck, hauling rocks, wood, lumber, bricks, etc., etc. and have never had an issue. I also take it off road in 4X4 without blinking an eye and have never been stuck.
As someone else said, I drove them all and this was the one that got my buy. Good luck. |
RE: Toyota Tundra
The only complaint I have so far is that I keep denting the skid plate. But that's primarily my own fault. I just hammer out the dents and keep going but it is getting pretty beat up. There's only two worthy options for aftermarket skid plates that I know of. Pro Comp makes one but it looks really flimsy and another place called BudBuilt. The BudBuilt plates look beefy but they're $350 bucks.

RE: Toyota Tundra
Isn't it Toyota supposed to have all models in every state. Did you try to call Toyota and see if they can help you!

I have an 05' with no problems after 80k miles.
Only complaints: -They EAT front brake pads -(Need changed every 30k miles) - Poor gas mileage 14mpg in the city, I hear the new one's get 11mpg city After 4yrs I stil love mine. It handles a load too (8000lbs). |
Well I certainly hope a Tundra is the way to go. I will be signing papers on one next week ! I put 237,000 on a 1998 Ford F-150 with practically zero problems. It was hard to go away from Ford.
Sales dude called me this afternoon. Truck is in. It is a 2010 SR-5, 5.7 V-8, 6-speed AT, 4x4, Towing and Off Road packages. Got a few more or less useless to me bells and whistles on it, but not much. Looking forward to using it. Just hoping I get as good a service as I did from my Ford. |
how does they do on gas when pulling a full load on trailer?
