Good camo?
I have been using Predator Camo for the last year or so and I came across ASAT has anyone used it? We are going to try it this season I think. Would like to know what you think. Thanks!

RE: Good camo?
They are both great patterns. They both are designed to break up your outline. I'm partial to Predator Fall Grey myself, but there are those just as attached to their ASAT. Try it this fall to see if one works better for you.

RE: Good camo?
IMO, either pattern is far superior to all the major brands.

+1 on the Fall Gray. However, in all actuality, you can hunt in jeans and any old jacket if you so desire. Movement (or lack thereof) and scent reduction are the real keys.

Personaly wouldn't buy ASATinstead of predator camo i already owned...basically the same thing. I'm a predator user and agreefall grey is my most used camo, though depends on your situation.

RE: Good camo?
IMO, it is really dependant on the location you will be hunting. If you hunt various areas (dry grass plains and hardwood areas as well) then one pattern may or may not give you the best break up. look at the pics they have on their web site and see which ones break up the outline best for you and your current hunting areas.
NOTE: studies show that deer can see blue, violet, and other colors on that end of the spectrum leading to UV..soo...blue jeans would not be a wise choice to hunt in...although I am sure it could work, but they will be able to see that blue coloration. I do like both Predator and ASAT, however if and when you buy some ASAT give ita try in the woods and see how well the patterns break your outline. Waldron's outdoors.com has ASAT and Predator and less expensive prices then other web sites. |
RE: Good camo?
I bought some factory seconds ASAT last year, I was sitting on a stool watching for deer returning to the bedding area behind me when I heard one walk up to me from behind and sniff me. I found out that it was a yearling buck whenI turned to look. He had been following the scent of the Deer Danderâ„¢ I had sprayed on me, and I honestly don't think he knew what I was, but I sure scared the sheit out of him.Yeah, it works. :D
My favorite all terrain camo is Natural Gearâ„¢, deer don't see you as threatening wearing that stuff, if they see you at all. |
RE: Good camo?
You need to use whatever camo works best for you and the area that you're hunting in.

RE: Good camo?
I hunt both ground blinds and tree stands in the Midwest. I have Realtree AP HD on everything I own. It just disappears. This past year I left my ground blind out for several weeks. When I went back to find it I walked for almost and hour only to find I had walked within 40 yds of it earlier.
