In my book, the Filson Mackinaw is the best buy. Pricey at about $400, but with proper care, will last a lifetime.

Have you looked at day one or sleepy indian clothing? I have and they seem almost impossible to beat either one of them, but once again a weeks worth of pay just for the parka.
