Need good sling

I'n in need of a new sling. Have only used leather ones. Not satisfied with them. What is your favorite/ or one that you could recommend?

the butler creek stretchy slings are the most comfortable and are priced great.i buy the ones with 4 bullet holders made on them for my rifles.

I kind of the like " The Claw" ones. I think that's what they are called but not 100% positive that's the whole name. I really like them. I have 3 of them. 2 in black and one in camo. I like the camo but it was about $15 more than black. The local gun shop I deal with sells them at fairly good prices. Better than I found online or around the same minus shipping anyway. They have that tacky feeling so they stick to your shoulder and don't slide around. I don't find them to be too uncomfortable. I really like them although I haven't used a ton of others. These are the only ones I've owned and most of my buddies don't have them. I've only used one or two of their guns where they do.

I recently bought one for my grandson at Wal Mart. Don't know the brand, but it has the rubberized backing that won't slide off your shoulder with the bullet holder built in. I think it was about $17.

It is aRemington brand.

best slings I have ever purchased. Don't buy anything else anymore. It stretches and makes the gun feel half its weight.

Another vote for the Claw. You can get them at Cabelas for about $20. They try to rip you off a bit for some of the HD camo versions, but the regular camo one is still about $20.

Yup the local gun shop is $21.99 or 20.99 or something right around there for the black and the light colored one. I don't know what color to call that.

The HD camo one however was like $36.99 or something. I don't remember exactly but it was in the $30's. I got one as I really liked it but my other two are black.

Thanks for the replies. I'll have to see what's available locally. I'd like to handle it before ordering one online sight unseen.

X2, I have 2 of these and love them. They don't absorb moisture and don't slip on your shoulder. You'll love them over the traditional leather strap!!

I have a claw as well it's not bad.I prefer to have a sling that I can wrap around my forearm for stability. The best one that I have I got from a military surplus store it is like the one I had on my m-16 in the corps. You can adjust it via a push clip and its not to wide and the bottom has a clip that can detach from the but of the gun with one hand.Good luck with whatever you buy.

x2. Love the sling. Don't have to worry about it slipping off your shoulder. Should be a booth at most big gun shows if you want to try before you buy.

Sling

Looked at the "Claw" today at Academy, and that reminded me that I had never gotten a replacement for my leather one. Before buying it, I decided to look on here and see what was recommended, as I couldn't remember that far back. Might go ahead and try the Claw.

I just go to WalMart and get what they have on sale. Slings dont seem to be a big deal to me.

I like this sling allot that's why I have 4 of them and one for the bow. Doesn't slip off your shoulder and many different ways it can be used to carry.

St. Barnard,

I brought mine to a seamstress and he sowed in the new swivles.

I have them on all my rifles and my waterfowl/turkey shotgun.

The best in ANY weather conditions and I've had plenty of "others".

I hop a lot of fences where I hunt and the rain/weather doesn't stop me from knowing my firearm is secure on my shoulder.
