I have a Nikon 600 for three or four years now and it has been really reliable, super opticaly, and the battery life is great. I finally had to changethe batterythis year and it has been used.

Unless you're hunting in steep terrian ARC is a waste of time. I have a Nikon Monarch 800 and a Leica CRF 1200. The Leica asbolutely crushes the Nikon in every way. The Leicas glass is incredible @ 7x and itscompact. The red LED readout is a must for rifle hunting during that last half hour. Therea bit pricey, but worth the money IMO. Cabelas has em online for 599.00. If you dont like it send it back, but you compare it to any other make and you wont be disappointed.

How much do the different modes matter?Rain mode, brush mode.I'm looking to buy one but cannot afford a Leica.I will pay more for the fogproof and waterproof models though. So I guess it will be a Bushnell or Nikon.I would like to use it for both bow and rifle. Thanks for your opinion.

I have the Bushnell and it works very well. Bushnell now has a waterproof model that I would buy if I would be in the market for another range finder.
