DrawLoc v crossbows
 

What is the difference between this Draw Loc www.drawloc.com and a crossbow? Crossbows are not allowed in Oregon and this is okay.

If I were you, I would check with DEC up there. Here in NY the only way a person can shoot a cross bow is they have no arms and release must be a blow release. Very poor law. Here in NY again, a DrawLoc is against the law. Trying to change this law on this issue butvery slow process.

Check with DEC? Who are they? I'm willing to do anything to start the ball rolling. I was told that it was the only way I'd be allowed to hunt with a bow yet for me it ain't possible.:(

The phyical difference in operation,is that a crossbow is fully "cocked" (drawn back fully to rear position),while the drawloc holds the bow almost at rear and still has to be drawn slightly rearward more before releasing the arrow. At least that's MY understanding the way it works. Since it's not totally drawn,that's how they get the "loophole" around conventional crossbows. If my understanding is incorrect I'm sure someone will explain it better.

According to their information, it is held at full draw and you are, in effect, releasing it with something like a their own style trigger.
