ATV Tires
Hey all. I have a 05 kodiak 450 and the tread is completely gone from the tires. i am gonna get new ones, but i dont know which kind of the hundreds to pick. i ride alot in mud conditions and snow (when it snows). i dont really ride on the street at all, more or like dirt roads and lake beds, etc. does anyone have any suggestions on some good, solid mud tires that will get me through anything (lol). thanks alot for the opinions but i dont want to buy just any tire.

RE: ATV Tires
I bought an 05 450 Kodiak demo that came with 26" Mud Lite's. This is my frist experience with this tireand so far I have been pleased. However If I were to buy I'd go back to a paddle type tire like a GBC Gator, Maxxis Mud Bug or Highlifter Outlaw. The later being the oneI think I'dchoose if it were today(had my first rip with them recently and was impressed as to how theypulled inthe snow).
Check out Tirewiz (i think the addy is www.tirewiz.com). |
RE: ATV Tires
thanks alot. i heard ok things about the kenda executioners, but i heard they have so much tread that the only thing they are good for is deep mud. but i would think the more tread the better in whatever situatioin.

RE: ATV Tires
This is an easy one. ITP 589's they are better all around tire than the Mud Lites and they will last a lot longer. I had Outlaws on my Rancher before I got some 589's and I love the 589's. I know people that swore by the Mud Lites until the rode on the 589's and they changed shortly after. They ride like a stock tire and pull like a mud tire.

Without a doubt gators or mud bugs.

RE: ATV Tires
put the same size tire on the 450 that it came from the factory with,if you go bigger you will kill the power. a 450 is not really big enough for those monster tires like the big atvs. i had a 97 kodiak and put mudlites on it ,it helped it alot but they are hard on grass.
