I tried wearing good gor-tex gaiters in the snow this season,any suggestions how to keep the big chunk of frozen snow from building up under the boot on the strap? A dozen steps and you can't walk on it. any ideas?

Try rubbing some bar soap onto the strap. It's tougher for the snow to cling to.

I use gaiters quite alot here in Georgia and also when I lived in Washington state.....Cabela's Dry-Plus. I never put the strap under me foot, but rather over the top. The elastic in the bottom of the gaiter and the lace-hook held it on just fine.
