what you need is a descender, strap, these devices attach to the safety harness

and slowly allow a strap to play through rollers that slowly allows the hunter to lower to the ground if he falls out of the tree stand, they come with a 30 ft strap but can be ordered with a longer strap

Don't waste your money on a cheap one. Buy a Summit right from the get go. For the most part they all climb similar. You get what you pay for, and when it comes to your safety don't mess around. Others have given you good advice on having a descent system. This year by me a man's stand broke, a climber and he had the original waste only strap. He was found by his buddy when he didn't show up. He was hanging up side down dead. Take tree stand hunting seriously, by not cutting costs on inferior equipment your life may depend on it.
