Which film speed

What film speed do ya'll use in your game trail
cameras? I have a non typical deer cam and
set it out for the first time last week with 400 speed
film but was wondering if 800 speed would give me
better pictures. Any thoughts?

RE: Which film speed

If my math is right, you should be able to get roughly 30% more range out of your flash by using the faster film. That's assuming that the flash is firing at peak output.

I don't have a game cam(yet), so I don't know too much about them. If you're seeing pics with animals slightly out of flash range then you could benefit from the faster film. On the other hand, if the camera only fires when the animals are within flash range, then you really don't need the faster film. The only advantage it offers is that the camera will work without a flash under slightly lower light levels. The disadvantages are higher film cost, and grainier pics.

RE: Which film speed

I've used both 400 and 800 speed film with my
Camtrakker. They both take good pics but I
prefer the 400. It's equal to the 800 at night
and daytime pics are definitely better.

I'd recommend trying a roll of each and see
which works better in your camera.
