Another binocular question, P1's
I got a pair of the wind river cf 10x50 and I was wondering if it is worth it to upgrade to the 10x50 p1 Is there a $150 difference? The shape of the p1's are different does it make a difference on how they look threw the lens?

RE: Another binocular question, P1's
The P1 binoculars have multicoated lenses that optimize light transmission and provide for a very clear sight picture. The P1s are also of a roof prism design that makes for a more compact feel. Roof prisms are more difficult to manufature than the porro prism design you have. As a result, they do cost more. The 10X50's you own are very well made and a nice pair of optics. The P1s will provide a more sharp image and will allow for longer viewing in low light situations. They're also a bit more compact and easier to carry. You'll shed nearly a half pound in weight going to the P1s. I have a pair of p1s in the 8X42 and am very pleased with their clarity and light transmission. I would buy the 10X50 P1s if there was no power restriction in IBO competitive shooting. As far as them being worth the extra $150, I think you should compare the two in low light situations to see if you notice a substantial difference. You should also check the clarity of the two.
