At our house it would be much cheaper if my husband wouldn't hunt. We start with dove, early teal, archery season, quail/duck and general deer open around the same time, then goose, and then spring turkey. Hogs are year round. Do dog trials and tests count too? Technically speaking you reap the rewards of a well trained dog for many years to come if you're lucky.

Good grief. I don't want to know. Tell her you want a lifetime hunting license for birthday or Christmas or anniversary gift. Nothing says love like a lifetime license. That's what we did for #10

Ask for a reloader so you look like you're saving money too.

#15 I want to go to Africa!

Its called a hobby for a reason. Good reason not to count. When wallet is empty, pull out plastic.

I have already exceeded $4K on hunting only this year. And I haven't purchased any license's or tags yet so that number will go up considerably soon.

I have also passed $2K in fishing gear this year with much more to come once ice fishing season arrives.

There are two numbers, the one my wife thinks is too much, and the actual number. But just think of all the money I'm saving on meat.
