Buy the best you can afford, price for the most part denotes quality.
Good binoculars pay off in low light. If you can compare them under low light conditions and not <font face='Script MT Bold'></font id='Script MT Bold'><font face='Arial'></font id='Arial'>through a glass window.

I have Swift Ultralite 10x42. They only weigh 21 oz. They cost me $180. I did a lot of shopping to find that price. Most places wanted over $200. I use them for Football games, hunting and bird watching.

Losthwy is right, get the best quality you can afford. The pair of Nikon 7x50's that I got the year before last have been like my right arm ever since I got them. Great clarity, great low light seeing ability and not really all that expensive for the performance, I paid about $230.00 for them.( They are also the binocs that I use to shoot 3-D)

in my opinion the greatest binoculars made are swarovski, i bought a pair of SLC 10x42 last year and they are worth every penny.

I just purchased a pair of the Leupold 8x42 wind River P1's last week. I put 'em to the test during the last 4 days of rifle season. In my opinion, they are excellent. Ranking right up there with some of the high $$$ binos. And nobody offers a better warranty. Buy good optics and they will last a lifetime.

I own two pair of binoculars Nion ATB 8*42 and Swarovski 8*32. There is no comparison and the price reflects the superior quality of the Swarovskis. In low light they are amazing and the long distance clarity is unmatched by the Nikons. However, a friend has a pair of the 10*50 pentax DCF-WP. There is little distinguishable difference between them and the Swarovskis; especially in normal light conditions and only looking 100 yards. One of the best sights for pricng the binoculars is AAAcamera.com I have not found anyone who can beat their pricing. The Pentax 8*42 are $264.00. If money is an issue, I'd look hard at the Pentax. Bottom line, buy the best you can afford,take care of them and they will be worth every penny

Bought a pair of Leupold Gold Ring 10 X 28 several years ago, absolutely love 'em. DIG AS DEEP AS YOUR POCKETS WILL ALLOW, THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR GOOD OPTICS.
