Rhino radios

Anybody have any opinion on the Rhino two-way radios? Good or bad?

I have two 120's and a 530 and really like them. Other guys in our group have them and they work very well, it's nice to know where your partners are when hunting. The 120's I give to my kids when they are riding atv's so that I know where they are at.

Can the transmittance of coordinates positionbe turned off, or, when you tell your buddy you just found a herd of elk, everyone that can hear that channelwill know the coordinates?

They work great. You might find you spend too much time fiddling with the thing than hunting, they're so much fun. Butactually they are quite easy to use. Garmin even offers free software upgrades for them. Also the base maps arepretty useless.I have the topo maps on a cdto download to the unit and theyimprove the gps a lot.

It appeared to me that they didn't have much range from a radio stand point. 3 of us were hunting in Co for elk and one of my partners had a Rhino and the other two of us had Midland 14 mile sets. The two midlands could talk just fine and were a couple of miles apart. Neither one of us could hear the Rhino very well and he could hear both of us.

I believe the 110/120 series are only .5 watt where as the 530 is 5 watts. I have both and find the 530 to work much better than the 120.

If someone in my hunting party had one, I'd be incline to get one too. I like what the 530 has to offer.
