I know this is going to bring out some who swear by it. But I have read there no way possible this product can work. What I have heard it would have to come sealed in a air tight package for it work from the get-go and to "reactivate" the "Scent-Lok" it would takeEXTREMELY high heat (over 1,400 F) in a low oxygen atmospere to keep the garmet from catching fire. So is this a biggest gimmick in the hunting market or what?

You heard correctly , carbon is at best a temporary solution . We've had people who work with activated carbon on a daily basis post here about what a sham those products are , but the true believers will still defend that crap to the death . Save your money .

and to be truly effective wouldn't a garment have to totally seal off every square inch of you body anyway?

The thing that surprises me the companies that market these products have not been sued for false advertising. If I had spent some of my hard earn money on these I wouldn't shoot the messenger, but rather I'd be getting mad at those who sell these garments. I just loath the fact so many hunters out there are being scammed by slick marketing.
