RE: New ATV

Bombardier has been criticised in Canada and abroad over the subsidies it receives from various levels of government. They have been described as beneficiaries of corporate welfare and accused of violating free trade agreements, especially by Brazil. Canada and Bombardier have countered by citing Brazil's direct and indirect subsidies to Embraer, its own major aircraft manufacturer and one of Bombardier's principal competitors in the regional jet market.
The government of Canada provided a large interest rate subsidy for the financing that made possible Bombardier's sale of subway trains to the New York City Subway. Some Canadians object to such large sums of money being given to a private for-profit company, but the government had argued that the subsidies create many jobs. Recently, Bombardier initiated an engineering design agreement with an Indian company which subsidy critics argue may result in a loss of jobs in Canada[citation needed].
Bombardier's reputation has been tarnished in the western United States by its association with the privately-funded Las Vegas Monorail system, which has been operational since December 24, 2004 but was plagued by delays due to mechanical problems. The system reportedly lost US$85,000 per day during a four-month closure[citation needed].
Bombardier's reputation has been further tarnished in the eastern United States for shoddy workmanship in the manufacturing of the high speed trainset for Amtrak. The high speed fleet has been taken out of service twice by the FRA for safety-critical defects due to poor manufacturing and design. Also the design has undergone over a thousand modifications since coming into service[citation needed].
Recently, some human rights and Tibet support groups in Canada, the U.K., and the U.S. have put pressure on Bombardier over its sale of passenger carriages to the People's Republic of China for projects including the controversial Qingzang railway line into Tibet.

RE: New ATV

Why do you think I narrowed it to KMC? To put it more in line with BRP business. That's why I even, and I quote if you need me to state it again, "These numbers could be misleading as it includes all divisions of BRP." I know that BRP couldn't compare to Kawasaki's complete line of business nor would I ever rip Kawasaki as I used to own a ZX-9. Get a grip and off your "imaginary" high horse. And they have done work for Artic Cat as well...so what!

You missed the point. You said that Bombardier sold out to Can-Am, which is totally incorrect and your reason for blasting their potential to stay in business. So get back to the point and answer that question.

Who cares about the criticism? What big company hasn't had their name smeared in the public?

RE: New ATV

I figured you would resort to name calling.
The usual reason to change a company's name are law suits. seems BRP is a bit shady. Sold out or changed names, whats the difference, theres more to it than it seems
I stand by what I said in the beginning. To stay with the big 4. Great customer service, parts will be available for years to come and at reasonable prices.
Have a nice day.

Honda Rancher 2wd manual shift. All the talk about 4wd doesn't matter to me. My Rancher has gone through muddy two foot truck ruts and in and out of three foot deep ditches with water in them. There's nothing in our area the guy with the KingQuad down the street goes through that I can't. We have at least 100 acres around us and the only thing I wish I had gotten with the Honda is more land to ride it on.

BWAHAHAHAHA:D

You must not have any mountains. I cannot even recall the number of times I have had to use 4wd. A utility ATV without 4wd here is not worth owning.

I cant recall ever needing a 4by model. My 2 wheeler does all I need.
Not knocking the 4by's they are awsome machines, I just dont need one, maybe if I had a big farm. My brother takes his 2 wheeler to colorado and New mexico and he says he same thing, doesnt need the 4by model.

You know I had several 4x4 pickups, all rigged with everything, lockers, 456 gears, lifted, 35" mudders everything. The only time I have stuck a truck was a 4x4. I never have been stuck in my 2 wheel pickup.

I suppose it all depends on the type of riding/driving you do, and where you do it. There have been instances at work where I have had 4wd engaged and the front diff locked (on the kawi 650), and it still wasn't enough to get me where I wanted to go. On the machine I typically use (honda foreman 450 4x4), I have to keep the 4wd constantly engaged to make it up some of the hills to get close enough to spray the patches of weeds. And even in 4wd, I still don't have enough traction to make it to the top of some of the hills. There have even been instances where I had to get a co-worker to sit on the back rack so that I could back up out of some places. A 2wd machine might get me 1/4 of the way up some of the hills- if I was lucky.

Same goes for 2wd trucks. They just couldn't make it in the mountains here. Sure they can go on dry 2 tracks just fine, but as soon as the snows start hitting, you need 4x4's chained up to travel on many of the roads. I had to dig out a drift in November up elk hunting to get a new Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 chained all the way around past one section of a main BLM road. Later that day, the same Dodge chained all the way around had to hook onto my buddy's 4x4 Suburban with chains on the front and a 24' camper in tow to get us up an icy hill back to the main road.

4 wheel drive is a necesity for most people who drive off road at all times of the year here.

You have got to be kidding. Where are you riding on level pavement? If you have never been stuck with a 2wd pickup you obviously never get off the road. Even then it often snows and 2wd just doesn't cut it. Heck with 2wd I couldn't even get out of my driveway today. Come on even in Texas they get snow and ice.....look out the window.

Thats the point, when you dont have it you dont try it. I stuck my 4x4truckseveral times, because you do things you would never normally do in a 2 wheeler.
I tottally get by with my little 250 bayou. Six of us have 2 wheeler ATV's.
I like the small nimble bikes, I can put mine in the back of my ranger, with my bumper rack on the back and I'm gone Hunting. LOL

I'm done with the 4by trucks, even my wife drove one. She had a full size eddie bauer bronco, lifted with 35's. Now we drive a ranger and a little mazda tribute. I rarely need a 4by but they are nice when you need it, NO DOUBT ! I just make due.
