Hang-On Treestands
I am planning on putting some spikes into some trees so I can pack in a lighter stand on some very steep (500 foot rise in altitude in 40 acres) mountain land we bought for this season (so spiking the trees is OK). I’ve used a Summit Viper self-climbing stand in the past (and I love it), but need something smaller for this steep land. I bow hunt, am 5’8” and weigh about 185 pounds. Comfort is fairly important, as is a decent sized platform. Quietness is king! Any suggestions on stands? MountainHunter |

I also have (and love) a Summit Viper. I also have a Lonewolf Alpha. See what you think of one of those....very quiet.

Out of the three brands I have used I like the Gorilla Silverback Magnum. It is light (aluminum) with a big platform and quiet. It also has a nice seat. I don't like seats with bars that cut the bottom of your legs. I just can't pad them enough.

I second the Gorilla. Since I started using one four years ago I haven't been more comfortable, confident, and quiet.

Gorilla stands are my all time favorite. Been slowly replacing older hang-on's with new Gorilla's. Comfort level is very high, platform sizes are top notch. LOVE'em.
