Buck Bran

We put out Wildgame Innovations' Buck Bran for the first time last year to give the deer some supplements for bigger racks and healthier deer. Winter was harsh in the UP last year too so we wanted to give them some added nutrition over the winter.

We put it out mid-day and when we checked it the next morning, there were tracks all along it and about 1/2 was gone already.

So, my question is, has anyone else ever used Buck Bran? What were the results? Are the rack bigger? Did it attract deer?

Thanks in advance.

Oh, and by the way, this year, we're going to put out some mineral blocks (Evolved Habitat Buck Lickers) so we wanted to know if we should go to the blocks or stick with the Buck Bran.

I use it alot here in Louisiana. I use it mostly for an attractant, however it is better for the deer than regular corn due to the high protein and fat content.

Go to your local farm supply store and ask for Rice Bran. If you notice, that is the main ingredient on Buck Bran. Deer will tear it up and the cost is much cheaper. Here is Louisiana you can buy a 50# bag for about 6.00 bucks.

TALL PINE, if I buy just the Rice Bran, will the deer eat that just by itself, or do I have to mix it with something? And how much shuold I put out if I was to use this?

No you do not have to mix anything with it. They will eat it just like it is. In the past I put out about half a sack at a time or quarter of a sack. They will find it!!
