Guess it depends how much $$$ you want to spend. I work in the woods - Redwing makes a Goretex non-insulated leather boot that is very light &comfortable, great ankleupport, and takes a beating...but they're not cheap!

I wear my Irish Setters for bird hunting- lightweight, gortex, comfortable, and have had them for 8 years and they still are in great condition.

For deer and elk I have worn my Danners. They are everything you would want for big game hunting.

I've got some old Sorels that have been great for a long time, but after almost 20 years they really need to be replaced. What have you heard about Rocky Boots? Or Wolverine?

I will never buy another pair of Rocky boots! They just don't last as long as they should. About 3 years is the most that I can get out of a pair. I just bought a pair of boots from the Georgia Boot Co. We'll see if they last longer than three years.

Everyone's got their own brand that they like and works for them .
I like Rockie's I have 4 diffrent kinds that do a certain thing for me.
Go to a retailer that has a big selection and try them on and buy the pair that you like and fit well , that are for the hunt that you are to use them for.

Alot of danner fans here! they're great boots. I got the rocky bear claw 2's last season and I can't say enough about them, you can stand in a foot of water as long as you want and they won't leak. Theyre light for what they are and have awesome woods traction. Also very warm for the cold late season we face here In Va. feet used to be the first thing that got cold, now theyre the only thing that don't. :D

i have the danner elk hunters and just bought a pair of cabelas boots made by meindls and they both are just the sh#$!!! both pair were over $200 but it was well worth the price... if i'm going to get the best of the best of one thing it would be my boats... if your feet are cold and soar you are just going to be misserable.

I have worn both Wolverine and Rocky boots.

I'll never buy another pair of Rocky's. Last pair I had started leaking about 2 weeks after I got them. I had the uninsulated, knee-high, snake proof jobs.

The Wolverines I've had for 4-5 years and still wear them and love them.

Danner makes a good set of boots, but they're too much for my pocketbook.

My all round hunting boot in the past has been Rocky Uplander. I used it for everything and afte 1 season they are toast. I like them because their comfortable and lightweight. This season I purchased a pair of Browning Uplander, so we'll see how they fair up to my abuse.

I also have a pair of Muck boots that I love, and in cold, cold weather I wear my Lacrosse thinsulate. They've been good boots, but I wouldn't reccomend hunting anything that requires hiking with them on.
