Spotting Scope Question
I am looking at getting a new spotting scope for an elk hunt this fall. I like the looks of the Cabelas Alaskan Guide Model. If anyone has this can you give me some inputs on how it performs. I am trying to get a descent scope without breaking the bank too much. Thanks!

Check out this link as a review on the alaskan guide spotter.
www.outdoorlife.com/outdoor/gear/fieldtested/article/0,20280,spotting_scopes-0014,00.html Outoor life.com tests all kinds of optics. My thoughts about the Cabela's optics are that they are alot of bang for the buck. But also check out Fujinon, Meopta, Pentax and Alpen. And don't forget the Bushnell elite okcmco |
RE: Spotting Scope Question
Burris is giving decent free spotting scopes with a Fullfield II riflescope purchase. Do you need a riflescope?

RE: Spotting Scope Question
I just bought a brand newLeupold Sequoia with a hard case, neoprene case, and a tripod for $250 off EBAY. They list in Cabelas for $335. They sell on EBAY under $300 all the time brand new. I love mine, especially for the price. I also have the paperwok for the sporting goods store somewhere that sold it to me if you wanted to give them a call. They had several of them listed and may have some left.

RE: Spotting Scope Question
Stratofisher: I just purchesed a spotting scope from www.opticsplanet.com the scope was a Barska 20-60 X60 Blackhawk waterproof spotting scope w/ tripod, soft case and hard case for $94 I am very impressed with it. The optics are very clear. I haven't found anything close for the price. Check it out. I put it on 60 and checked out the moon and was really surprised. I'll probably use it on 20 or 30 power most of the time. Twoshot Jim [/align] |
