I love my Rockys but if i had to choose another brand it would be Chipawas hands down. They cost a bit more but are well worth it.

I have a pair of Bear Claw II's they have been great for 4 years. I just bought a pair of Irish Setters this year and love them. They are a lot lighter than the bear claws and my feet don't get as hot or tired wearing them. I would take a look at Irish Setter. Danners are another good boot, IMO.

I have a good pair of Rocky boots that I bought a year ago but I hate it everytime I see "MADE IN CHINA" on the inside. I also have a pair of Wolverine that I've had about 9 or 10 years. I recommend the Wolverine. They say made in USA but I doubt if they still make them here. Since Clinton made friends with the Communists it seems like us Americans can't make anything anymore.

I bought ma pair of Columbia boots on sale for $135 and they are the best I've had. Good leather and gore-tex liners and sole is quiet.
