Ameristep Climbing Stand

Has anyone ever used the Ameristep Deluxe Steel Climbing Stand. I won one, just wondering how they work?

All of the Ameristep models are serviceable , some better than others . I own two , I don't remember the model name of the first , but it weighs 27 lbs. and has climbing bars instead of cables . If that's what you have then sharpen the teeth on the climbing bars with a file or grinder , mine had a tendency to slip before I did . [&:]

I also have a Prarie Falcon , which is a cable climber and weighs 21 lbs. , no major complaints so far other than the crappy uncomfortable suspended canvas seat . Both came with a POS shoulder harness that has since been replaced with a 4 point restraint . The straps from the previous ones were used to secure my black lab's feeder to the fence of their kennel , and wasn't even good enough for that so I replaced them with chain .

Both of these climbers will eventually either be put away for my grandkids to practice with , or end up in a yard sale after I get the Summit Bullet Backpacker that I've had my eye on .

Not really the ringing endorsement I was hoping for, but I appreciate the honesty. Thanks for the info.
