well, this is an ebay buy. all it says is "mag tech scope" but mag tech is a bullet company. i'm a little concerned about that. it's mounted on a savage tactical, so i'm assuming it's a tactical. he says this retails for about 305 if that's any help. I emailed him the question and haven't gotten a response. also, if it helps, his main line out in the search forum is "savage, sniper scope, rifles scope, bushmaster, hunting". but he might just be trying to get as many hits as possible.

I'd stay away from buying it....
Maybe GO on E-BAY and SEARCH UNDER SCOPES.....
You MAY BE ABLE TO FIND OUT THE NAME OR AT LEAST FIND OUT WHERE ITS MADE...
I"M THINKING IT MAY BE RUSSIAN...(SO THE CONCERN I HAVE IS THE QUALITY CONTROL)..
IT MAY BE MILITARY SPEC BUT WHO KNOWS I WOULDN"T FALL FOR THAT HYPE..
AT LEAST NOT ON SOMETHING THAT THEY ARE WILLING TO EXPORT TO A COMPANY OR TOSOMEGUYS GARAGE:D IN NORTH AMERICA..

i personally would not buy a used scope from someone i did not know, just my opinion. my reasoning is because you don't know how well it has been treated/maintained. it could have internal damage that you can not see. back to the question, it does appear to be some type of tactical scope but i do not know what kind. there seems to be an abundance of new scope companies coming out. if you have already purchased this scope, i would say your best bet would be to take it a gun shop and have them research it.

It looks to be 3x9 40mm scopesold by Magnacraft (TM). They alsosell red dots, binocs, golf scopesand telescopes that are marketed under that name. It is an inexpensive import scope. You would probably be much happier spending a few bucks more for a brand name scope. If you watch ebay closely you can pick up 3x9 40mm Burris fullfield for about $160.00.

I know that for $140 or less you can pick up a Bushnell 3x9 40mm scope for your rifle. Its a pretty good scope. I put it on a 308 and it looks pretty good. Good Luck!

I sold a number of scopes on ebay and would definately say that the buyers got some good deals. That said, i would look for scopes with lifetime warranties for anyone who has the scope not just the orginal buyer. I've spoke to a number of people who bought leupolds with known damage and sent to leupold to get fixed for basically nothing.

Ihave no worries buying a Leupoldon ebay, assuming the seller has a good feedback rating.
