Best Hang-On Stand for Portable Use
Would like to purchase a hang-on stand that could be set up for multiple locations. I know the Lone Wolf has the easy hang strap so you can buy multiple straps. Any others with a similar setup? And which would you recommend? Thanks.

RE: Best Hang-On Stand for Portable Use
I've been hunting out of a Lone Wolf for two seasons now. I doubt you'll find a quieter, more solid stand. Those easy-hang straps are the way to go. Last year I quietly hung one in the mid afternoon and hunted it. A half hour later, a doe stood up 40 yd away. She was bedded the whole time and never knew I was there. She stood up, scratched her ear, shifted a little and lay back down again.

Wingbone, how is the comfort of the seat on the Lone Wolf? I've heard some people complain about it. And what do you use for steps if you have multiple locations?

I like the largest Gorilla hang on stand and the Gorilla climbing sticks. I don't know if it is the best but it is the best of the three that I have used. I've also use the EZ screw in steps.

RE: Best Hang-On Stand for Portable Use
ahh, i was just going to start a new post on this topic. i have an old loc on steel stand that some truspasser hung on my property. Its sturdy and fairly quiet but heavy. Also two cabelas scout lite stands from years ago, they are quiet and lightwieht aluminum, but have the standard strap for hanging. These have never creaked or popped on me, but mayby that's cause i only weigh 160 lbs. Next is my lonewolf hand climber. Best climber made. Period. Quiet, light, and extreamly functional. It gives me confidence to be in a stand that well constructed. I am currently trying to purchase the lone wolf alpha hang on with the hook system to replace my other three fixed stands. The off camber/off set bracket looks like a pretty sweet deal. In the same line of the alpha hang on, i would also recomend Chippewa Wedge Loc Stands. The outfitter that i hunt with uses these and they are right on par with lonewolf. They have a chain hang on system that works as well as any i've seen. Hang a chains in multiple locations and just move the stand. They hang on the chain in like four seconds and are rock solid. Many different options and models to choose from. Check out the website. They are made in michigan i believe. www.chippewawedgeloc.com

The tree lounge is the best stand I have had. they are a little heavy and a little noisy to assemble in the wood, but I can sit in the thing all day. I added the archers special to it and can stay in the tree from sun up to sun set. It is worth every penny spent.

I find it to be a pretty comfortable seat, a lot more comfortable than the API I had.It is closedcell foam, much like a turkey hunting pad.I see the new models have a different pad. Also I find the seat is plenty high so you don't have to be sitting below your knees. For multiple locations I have more tree pegs, or, remove the pegs and insert them into the same holes the next time.

Lone Wolf Alpha hang-on. By far the quietest hang-on I've ever had. The seat is fairly comfortable too and it's light. QUIET is what you definetely want.
