Scent-Lok Dakota
In my effort to spend as much as possible this season, I am considering buying my first Scent-Lok suit. After reviewing them, I like the Dakota as it is mid weight and would work good for Ohio in November and beyond with layering (I think). Has anyone here had experience with these suits?
Also, with a full scentlok suit and being 20+ feet up a deerstand, can one start to disregard wind as much? The property where I exclusively hunt only has a few places where I can hunt with a west wind. Thanks in advance! |
RE: Scent-Lok Dakota
I have considered buying a dakota suit also, but have not done so yet. I currently use a scent lock underliner suit (under Cabelas fleece) very quiet. I also have a scent blocker suit that is mid weight and has cold weather liners and waterproof. This suit is a micro-fiber and makes a little rustling noise normally and more when it isvery cold. When I use my scent blocking suits (either one) I still shower with descent soap, make sure me, boots and all equipment is sprayed down with a descenting product. I was hunting with an Xtreme Scent pro-staffer and used some of their new XP silver scent spray and it worked very well. I have had deer come within a few feet of me in a pop-up type blind and from the down wind side of me in a tree stand.
