Why'd I buy the Bushnell 1500 Elite rangefinder?

Why'd I buy the Bushnell 1500 Elite rangefinder?
2 year warranty?
Rainguard coating?
Bushnell name?
Price?
Waterproof?
1500 yard max range?
Backlight LED?
7x power magnification?
$399 ($329 if you look around)?
Well, it was a combo of all the above. I've only had it since Friday but so far I'm quite happy with it. I really wanted the Leica RF 1200 but it was $600. I REALLY would have loved the Duovid's but they run around $2,000 and I can't quite afford that. The Swarovski looks nice too but spendy. Still, I wanted one that would range deer out at least 500 yards. So far I've been able to range black bassault rocks out past 800 and yellow grass about the same. As I test it more I'll let you know how it performs. I really like the brush-scan feature as I can scan through a glass window with that turned on.
I expect I'll be most satisfied with it and it's performance. I've not bought any Elite products before but it seems well built.

I use the Bushnell Legend rangefinder. It is waterproof, floats and works quite well. The Leicas and Swaros are no doubt superior but that doesn't mean the bushnell does not do what its supposed to do.

Bushnell's higher end optics are usually quite good. I am not that familiar with this rangefinder in particular but I know it is true of their binos.
