Default Question for Polaris ATV owners.

I have a friend with a 400 4x4. The probem is a torn cv boot on the rear. Can you tell me where the best place to find replacements online and how bad of a job is it to replace them? Looks like it could be a pain. Thanks in advance.

Take it too a dealer, you've invested alot allready, make sure it's done right. It costs a lot more but think about it? Who rides this atv? You , your family, or maybe children, probably the most important people in your life do. Spend the money to fix it.

The new boot for my front CV shaft on my Kodiak was $50. I did it myself. Took several hours, but wasn't hard. If it's under warranty - take it in, if he's not mechanically inclined - take it in, if he/you know a little somethin somethin about mechanics- its an easy do it yourself.

Easy enoough job if you want to do it yourself.
Hardest part is getting the new clamp on,but it can be done with a pair of needlenose pliers.

Check www.denniskirk.comalso. Theyhave severalparts for atvs. I have not done this job so I can'ttell you aboutthe skill level involved. A service manual will be a big help, much more than the "junk"and "trade it" comments were.
