Any experience with a 93 Kawasaki LTF400?

Im looking atbuying a 93 kawi LTF400, but dont know the history of this model of Quad. I know Honda is a better bike, but does anyone have any experience with this model, expecially with the transmission.

...not personally, but you could try going to:

...this is our local atv group with alot of very knowledgable riders and owners there. Some are Kawi riders so they might be able to help you out.

I think 93 was the first year for the 400. I knew a guy that had one and he ran it for years . it may still be going as far i know. I know he had some issues with the radiators location. he stuck a nice stick in it due to it being right in the front.
also it would get clogged up with mud causing it to overheat.
For me i would be leary due to it's age. unless it was a heck of a deal. parts may be a issue. it was not as popular as ....say the bayou 220 or bayou300 4x4 and as all atvs parts are high priced!
good luck .
