Deutsch Langhaars are versatile pointing dogs that excel in the field and in water. Both parents are exceptional bird dogs and family companions. They were both successfully trained by first-time handlers and did very well in their JGHV hunt tests. They are hunted extensively on upland birds and waterfowl and have a very strong desire to track and retrieve. Both have a dramatic "off-switch" and are well-mannered house dogs. These are outstanding hunters that will also do extremely well at home as family pets.
