Training a Lab to Track

I recently have aquired a Chocolate Lab that is about 13-14 weeks old. I am wanting to train it to track deer. Does anyone know where you may be able to buy deer training scent. I have found training scent at Cabelas and BPS but none is for deer.

Oh yea if anyone has any training tips that will be much appreciated!!1

RE: Training a Lab to Track

I am training my Lab pup to track and blood trail, and I saved some blood from the deer that I have killed this season for off season practice. According to some resources that I have used, one ounce of blood is supposed to do a 200 yard trail, so it doesn't take much.

My pup has "found" 3 deer for me so far. Here is a picture after her best trail yet. It was a 200+ yard trail, and she had to cross a creek on the trail.

I lucked out.. my Labrador was a natural. I put him on his first blood trail and 300+ yards later he found the buck.
