German Shorthaired Pointer/ Weimaraner mix
I have a 1 year old female German Shorthaired Pointer and shegot in my 3 year old Weimaraner's pin and before I knew it they were locked together. So now I am expecting pups from them sometime around Thanksgiving. I was wondering if anyone owns or has seen a mix like this. If so do you have pictures and also send me some comments about this.
Thanks, T.R. |
RE: German Shorthaired Pointer/ Weimaraner mix
Same thing happened to me some years ago when in5 seconds flat my GSP got stuck in there and there was nothing I could do about it. The result was a fine looking litter of pups all of which turned out with really keen noses. They had GSP build and physique andWeimer agility. The coat turned out solid liver but with the Weimer sheen to them. Really nice looking dogs. Unfortunately Inever took any pics.

Did you sell them or did you give them away? If sold for how much?
Thanks, T.R. |

I think I might try to sell them b/c a few people told me they would give me $250 for one. What do you think? They should be good dogs I know both parents are really good in the field.
Thanks T.R. |

Sounds like you will have some fine pups. Both are great dogs so I'm sure you can gett something out of them. I would keep one if I were you if possible. Be sure to post pics once born.

RE: German Shorthaired Pointer/ Weimaraner mix
I knew a man in KS when I lived there who had a GSP/Weimeraner puppy that he was training as a bird dog. It was beautiful, like a chocolate Weimeraner with a white chest, and seemed to be doing very well. I think he actually looked for that specific cross when buying his puppy, so you'll probably find you have a good market for them. I'd imagine they'd make great pets for an active family too.
