dead boar

This is a very poor picture. It was the last evening of muzzle loader season, and this boar came out, and would not leave. I did not want to shoot, because I was tying to get a doe for sausage. In Texas, we can hog hunt 24 hours a day. The end of shooting time came, and no doe. I turned to the boar. It was dark where he was at, and I did not have a varmint light on the rifle. I could barely make out the ear and snout, but not good enough to define my normal target. I squeezed off the 50 cal Accura, with the slower velocity 250 gr bullet, I heard the slap of the bullet. He weighed 153 lbs. I do not care for the taste of boar, but love the sows. I unloaded this one, with a grateful neighbor, that is out of work and has climbing medical bills.
