It Took A Year.. But Finally Crossed Paths With This Giant Hog For The Last Time
After seeing this monster boar hog on camera and chasing him for over a year, our paths finally crossed for the last time. Texas hog hunting with a Diamondback AR10/.308, Pulsar Trail XQ38, and Hornady Full Boar .308 Ammo, 165 grain.

My first guess was 350, but I've been off some before. Typical for them to run 30-40 yards after the shot. Ought to make a nice mount.
You have probably already figured this out, but quartering away shots work well, actually better than broadside. If you try to visualize the bullet path and get it in behind the shoulder, they rarely run very far after the shot. Hogs can be tough. The heart in a Hog can be lower than you'd think, it is tucked in behind the shoulder and protected well. |
