Looking for axis or fallow
 

Can anyone recommend an outfitter for axis or fallow that is really fair chase? I've only been to one exotic outfitter and it wasn't hunting. thanks in advance

If by fair chase you mean no fence then you are outta luck. If you want what most reasonable people would consider "fair chase" there are many high fence ranches in Texas that offer Axis and Fallow deer on huge acreage parcels well over 1000 acres each. Some, like the YO ranch have well over 40,000 acres. I'd call that fair chase. Of course there are some of those places that have large acreage but the animals are so tame and used to humans as well as clockwork feedings that it's not really hunting. I myself have never pulled the trigger at any of them but have been tempted to go after some of the exotics for the meat. Heard a lot about several of the African species that have some really good tasting meat. Just never could pull the trigger on it. Do some research on the bigger Texas game ranches and I am sure you will probably find what it is you are looking for.

Understanding exotics are a business, and the owners will have a fence around it, I'm looking for a place where the animals are wild, have the desire to get away and the ability. So, large ranch with wild animals. Thank you.

I have taken Axis & Fallow both.. Axis was by far very tough to get (more than 1 trip) compared to Fallow and for us, better eating. No guarantee on rate the day lease packages...

Exotic hunts
 

Hey, I've just opened up for business. I have a great sounding ranch for you. It is high fences but it is a 1000 acres and the land is very tricky. There are over 17 water crossing on the ranch making it nearly impossible to control. For that reason you never quite know what u might see. We are surrounded by exotic trophy ranches. We have many things like elk, Pierre David, buffalo just show up out of nowhere.

Anyway it's very secluded about 30 miles from kerrville in real county.

Our best exotics are blackbuck, fallow, and aoudad. We have many gold medal animals of each. We also have moderate populations of axis and Sika as well as a few red stag and elk. We also have whitetail, turkey, and hog. Hunts are min $600 2 days which includes food, drink, 2 hogs or 1 ram, guide and animal cleaning. Kill fees apply towards all other species. Does and culls can be taken as low as $400. Mature bucks start around 800-1000 for management, and trophies range $1400 and up depending on species and size. I can give u detailed rate sheet.
