Daughter's First Hog!
video -
We had been practicing getting on target. I would spot an animal with my handheld thermal scope and then we would get the rifle up and in the window, electronics turned on, and the daughter would have to locate the animal, identify it, and then would practice holding steady on it or tracking. This time, the animal turned out to be the hog and she didn't have on her muffs, LOL. Got the muffs on and just as she was about to shoot, the hog turned. The shot entered just behind the right shoulder and then blew out a large area of flesh and the hog took off running, heaving a heavy blood and tissue trail through brush, poison ivy, and briar. We finally found it the next day. |
I'll bet she'll remember that the rest of her life!
