Killed A Long Haired Sow
 

Killed this sow and her solitary female pig from a treestand on the creek bank yesterday. The sow weighed about 100 pounds and the pig weighed about 30 pounds.

A shot in the ear from a .22 magnum did the trick. It's always good to get sows out of the gene pool.

That curly haired Duroc must have been hide draped over hollow bones. By the picture I would judge her at almost twice that weight.
Must make quite a difference living off of sagebrush versus corn and beanmeal!

Long haired wild hogs are scarce here. There were some longhaired white hogs running around south of Grandfield, OK on the Red River. i killed this mostly white long haired hog in the hog pen of a friend who was staging a hog dogging show and did not want folks to see this the hogs torn ears.

That 135 pound boar was a dynamo, day they caught him he whipped four hog dogs, one right after the other.
