Some Hogs We Caught This Week

These three 45-50 pound pigs were caught on Wednesday:

These were caught on Thursday:

The boar on the left is a solid 250 pound hog, the sow in the middle weighed about 100 pounds and the boar on the right weighed about 110-120 pounds.

Do you trap them or bay them with dogs and hand catch them?

We trap them. This is one of our traps:

OK, thanks. Do you trap to kill and eat or to sell? I have been taking an annual pilgrimage to SC to hunt hogs for the last several years, I am booked again for Feb next year. I prefer wild pork to domestic. I have scrapple, bacon, chops roasts and sausage made. What is the population like in OK? I wouldn't mind switching states occasionally.

Most of the hogs we trap are field dressed and given to someone who needs the meat. We do sometimes keep one for ourselves. We usually catch 100-175 each year.

Nearly all of southern OK is overrun with wild hogs.

Where in SC do you hunt?
