Default Caught A Big Boar Hog Today

Yep, we caught him today. He was not there this morning when my friend checked the trap before deer hunting. When i drove by at 16:00 there he was, attitude and all. He was a solid 275 pound hog.

This hog was a fawn eater. He has come to a fawn in distress call.

So much for human scent. I set that trap in the dark after deer hunting yesterday.

would like to see a closeup of the trigger/pan mechanism in your trap when ya get time if ya don't mind.
Theres no trigger. The door is hinged at the top. A stake under one side of the door holds it up. A line attached to the top of the stake goes through a pulley to the other side of the trap, where its tied off. The line passes through the trap about one foot from the floor and about 18" from the back of the trap. Hog hits the line, stick falls out and door comes down-thunk!!!

The door is easily removed.

He's really funky looking reminds me of Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi. Hillary can come in a close second.

If you'd look closer. You'd see the brindle in him. Definetly GOP stock. Good catch Falcon!

This is a part of my bucketlist for this year. I hope I can catch one! I always been comfortable with fowls and this is a huge challenge for me.
