I guess I'm the FGN here
Hello All,
I just found this site while doing some research on an old rifle. This place seems like it has a lot of experienced hunters instead of the usual arm chair commandos I see on other sites. I've been hunting for 35+ years in Florida mostly for hogs and occasional deer and ducks. Most of my hunting has been on various private lands and some state WMA land. I enjoy hunting hogs the most as they are smart and great eating. I hope to learn here and may even contribute my experience... but let me tell you that after 35+ years I've become very opinionated and very cautious on anything "new". |

I'm new here, too. I'll be moving to Florida in 2 years, and I look forward to hog hunting. I shot a big Russian boar in Ohio 28 years ago and it was some of the best eating we've ever had. Made a nice trophy, too. My most exciting hunt ever.
I'm looking forward to learning the how-to's and where-to's when it comes to southern hog hunting, with bow, muzzleloader, or whatever. Dittos as to the experience shown on this site. |
i thought it was fng

Welcome bro.. Good to have ya; .

I just moved to the Florida area. As an avid elk/mule deer hunter form Colorado I do not know squat about these hogs here in Florida. Been hitting the WMA called Green Swamp East and I find plenty of areas the hogs dug up, but have yet to see/hear the hogs.
What WMA do you prefer, any advice? Gabriel |

Welcome! But FNG is a harsh term! haha. Trust me, I used to be one here in the mil! Here you will find a great bunch of people who are very kind and helpful, always eager to meet new members and exchange experiences. You stumbled upon one heck of a website and family. BB
