Trapped A Good Sow Last Night
Caught this sow last night. She weighed about 135-150 pounds and was very fat for a wild hog. She never had a litter and was not pregnant.

looks like a tree stand over there behind all that Its my favorite hog shooting tree stand. Theres a deer feeder off camera to the left. We never shot deer there: Now the deer never come because of the hogs. |
Can you shot pigs year round there? And given the number of animals that you get regularly, what do yo do with them?

Can you shot pigs year round there? No hunting license is required of resident or non-resident hog hunters. And given the number of animals that you get regularly, what do yo do with them? They all get eaten by someone. We have a long list of folks who want wild pork. i pay for processing some that goes to the food bank. A little of it goes to folks in the sheriffs drug court. They all get eaten by someone. i've passed on some shots while hunting because the hog was too big to drag to the road. My hog dragging limit on level ground is about 75 pounds and going down every year. |

We have a developing hog problem here, but its still so small that the state can't accurately tell us where the hogs are. Which I take as a good sign thus far. We are allowed to shoot them on sight, provided we have a small game license (heaven forbid the state misses a couple bucks in license revenue). |
That's strange to find a hog that size that has never been bred, we shot one several years ago about 175 lbs that had never been bred either. I guess animals are like humans some may not be able to reproduce! BTW she was delicious!
