Homemade Hog attractant
 

I am heading to deer lease this weekend in Hico, tx. Does anyone with experience in hog hunting know of a great brew of slop to attract hogs into my area where I have seen their sign?

Fill a bucket about two thirds full of corn. Add water until it covers the corn by three inches. Sit the bucket in the sun or in a warm place for a week or two. Nothing attracts hogs better than sour corn.

To keep the hogs hanging around longer; make a hole about 30" deep with a post hole digger. Fill the hole with shelled corn. The hogs will dig and root in that hole until the corn is gone.

I found another way other than the bucket to sour corn, I did this by accident. I bought corn in the weave type plastic or fiber bags. I got one wet from a rain, I thought it was ok but when I took it to the feeder it did not smell but when I opened the bag it was an awful sour smell, the hogs were all over it that night. The nice thing is not dealing with the sour smell until you are ready for the hogs.
