Help!

I live in Peru and it is almost impossible to take my guns to the US and my hunting dream is to go to Texas to hunt hogs but is is really hard to take my guns to the US i'm wondering if theres any hunting ranch that rents rifles.

I'm sure any of them would make arrangements to get you a loaner if you booked a hunt. You might also check with the embassy, I thought you only needed a Customs Form 4457 to get the guns into the country. You might also try Record Buck Ranch in Utopia Texas. They're on the Web, call them and see if they've got loaners.

What problems are you running into trying to bring your rifle?

Why are you having problems?........I have taken mine to Canada, Argentina and Venezuela......Of course, through the proper channels....

The problem is that Peru has one of the strictest gun laws in the world on if I had US citizenship I could take them as if I where going to take it home or if I would be moving to the US, Its easier for an american to bring their guns to Peru but harder for a Peruvian to take his gun and it would take months to get the documents and I think I need a license and it costs a lot.

Would I need a Texas Hunting License or I could just use my Peruvian license?

Can I send to make taxidermy in Texas and send it to Peru?
By the way I checked Record Buck Ranch and i Think it is it.

You'll need a Texas non-resident hunting license. Even hunters from other states must get a license to hunt in Texas. That's pretty much universal AFAIK. All states require a hunting license, and local resident licenses are cheaper than those for non-residents.

A General Non-Resident Hunting License in Texas is $315 according the to web site at http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/business.../recreational/

You will only need the Texas non game license which is $45. We have outfitters that will let you rent a rifle for a hog hunt. Contact me by email [email protected]

Being a Texas resident, I wasn't aware of the non-game license.

According to the web site I referenced, the Non-Resident non-game permit now costs $63. However, I also saw a Non-Resident Five-Day Special Hunting license for $48, or am I overlooking something?

It sounds like SJAdventures can provide more and better information as well as contacts to arrange your hunting venture. Whatever you decide to do, good luck and have fun!
