7 Year Old Son Scores Corsican Ram
 

I took my boy out to get a Corsican ram today. There's a 150 acre island near us that has some rams so we booked a hunt. Two feet of snow on the ground and it was tough walking for the little guy. But he toughed it out and we eventually found a ram. 308 Winchester. Down!!!

At 6, he got his first game. A squirrel with a .410 shotgun. Last November, he got his first deer. A spike with a crossbow. I was very proud.

My dad started me young too, I had killed numerous hogs and a couple turkeys by the time I was 10, While all the other kids were on the streets I was in the woods. I thank god I had a dad like that especially when I see other people my own age that still hadnt been hunting or barely had at all. Itll make a better man out of him and hell appreciate you for it in the future.

You're right. While we're out hunting and fishing, other kids are sitting in their rooms playing video games. We're having adventures that will last us both our whole lives. I love it!!!!

It's also great how other adult hunters have been with him. They are very excited for him, congratulate him, listen to his stories on the edge of their seats. It makes him feel so proud and like he fits in with the adults. It makes him like and admire adults. Many kids these days are either indifferent or down right disrespectful to adults. Sickening.

Congrats to yer son on his Ram. Kudos to you fer getting him started into hunting & hopefully abit of fishing. Nothing like a good bond & lots of hunts together
