Default Got one with my new gun

Got to my friends ranch today to check on things, and fill the feeders and did an evening hunt.
Took this one just after dark under the hog lights and using the red dot on the scope.
My new 7-08 loaded with 139 gr hornady BTSP.
115 yds
I hit this one right on the front leg and low, exactly where I was aiming, I heard the hit, waited and went to look for it. No blood trail but found it 30 yds from the feeder in a pool of blood. This thing absolutely destroyed the leg and had a 3" entrance wound on the ribs, small exit. Cant understand why no blood trail.
Took the heart out as well as you can see from the pic of me holding the exploded heart. pretty good to go through the front leg bone, 2 ribs and still exit.
check out the damage.

this is the entrance side

this is the heart

I generally shoot them in or behind the ear, hate losing the meat!! Nice layer of fat on that hog, it'll eat fine!

Ya I do too, but I am testing out this 7mm-08 and I want to see what it does with body shots.

I have a friend who has a business controlling hogs (5,000+ in one year!) and shoots a 7-08 for free rangers pretty much exclusively. Works great on body shots, .... as you found out!!
