Any input on .357 Mag for Hogs

I've got a Marlin 1894 in .357 Mag and was wanting to take it into the Hog woods this fall and was thinking bout using the Buffalo Bore 180 grain LFN-GC round out of my rifle and was wondering does anyone have any experince with this round at all, any input would be great thanks.

i have heard that it is pretty good round, But I would suggest as with any lever gun hornady leverevolutions. Buddy of mine shoots them in a .357 lever gun and loves em.

i have a lever gun and many people suggest hornady leverrevolution. a .357 will do just fine. and since it seems your in thick bruch it is a quick gun to shoot and will do great

I've killed probably 5 hogs in the past year with my NEF handi rifle in .357 mag. I haven't lost one yet to it. All hogs were between 150 lbs to 250 lbs. I use my reloads that are pushing a 195gr round nose cast bullet at 1100 fps. Potent round, and quiet too.

The .357 out of a rifle should work fine for hogs. My uncle has used a .357 mag pistol successfully for hog hunting - out of a rifle it is much more potent. Just use a heavy bullet and aim straight!

I strickly bow hunt, but what you have will certainly do the job!

If you reload you may want to look at the Hornady XTP series of slugs,or a good cast bullet that is soft enough to swell but not flatten out.

No Problem

You will do well with that set up with the right bullet placement.
