Jim, this is the one that I was talking about in an earlier thread that we had been trying to get all year as he was keeping all the good bucks out of the area he was hanging out in... He messed up and came into my area in the daylight while we were on stand... I checked the trail cam and hewasn't on any of the pics so this muct have been his first trip into my area, and his last!!!

That's a nice Sika. I have taken several off a friends lease in Texas. What is he 24 inchesor so? Has great mass. I didn't know they did a number on the whitetail bucks. But most of ours aren't that big either.

Thanks guys!!! I felt lucky to get him on a low fence free range ranch... I got the score sheet back from the taxidermists, he was 137 2/8 , he would have been over 140 without the broken tine... I have been looking at some of the record books, it requires 94" to make goldand he will definitely be a gold medal buck... I am not sure yet if I am going to enter him in the books yet or not but it's pretty cool to know he's agold medal buck!!!

Wow, that would be a MD state record. He even looks totally different than MD Eastern Shore sikas.

Big Country I have been looking into the different species of Sika and there are many, that one I shot is what is to be considered a Dybowski (or so I have been told), which is one of the largest breeds. This one dwarfs the other one I shot butI believe it is a JapaneseSika which are the smallest of the species, however they will interbreed so who really knows... This one went 225-250lb on the hoof.... As for records SCI's #1 in the world goes 198 and some change, that thing looks like an elk...

Burnie, I still have Axis and Fallow on my list as well and Axis has always been at the top of my list!!!

They must be totally different than here. Here, a 100lb 3X3 is considered an amazing trophy stag. Hinds that go over 60lbs are huge hinds.
