my first hog
taken over a creek as he came out of a thick, overgrown clear cut. I'm guessin 140 or 150 pounds. I had to drag him about 3/4 mile. Took him with a shot through the spine just behind the neck.

RE: my first hog
.243 with 100 grain bullet. About 40 yards. Minimal entry wound and no exit wound. It was mostly a downward shot as I was high in tree on opposite bank and he was nose down to the creek. Completely destroyed a vertebra and spinal cord at that joint. Dropped him right there. Lucky he couldnt run or there wouldnt have been blood til it came from his mouth. Need more penetration!
