How do the wild hogs taste?
I have never killed a wild hog and was wondering how they stack up against a tame hog relative to taste.
I was raised on a farm and we raised hogs for our own consumption, prime was about 200 to 250 lb (If males are castrated early}.
Old sows were cut practically all up into sausage.
Boars that hadn't been "cut" were sold !

I like them, they are leaner than farm raised hogs. I have grilled hogs from 10 lbs to 40 lbs and they are great. Done hawaiian style with head on, the whole pig right on the grill. I had a big 200lb boar turned into pan sausage and he was good! I am almost out of hog and I need to shot a few to fill the freezer up. My neighbors like it as well and I give alot away.

I'll have to look into a hog hunt the next time I go to Florida, I hear there is some great hunting for them down there.
