About two years back me, my buddy, and one olderguywere hog hunting in Texas. On the last day as we were packing up, me and my buddy went rattler hunting. We looked all over that old farm. Under old sheets on tin, in old barns, all around and under the hay, and around some large rocks by a creek bed. We found nothing. When we got back to the house, the oldguy had a huge rattler. We asked where he found it and he said it was under the truck!

We take about 40 per year. We eat some of them give some to friends. We make belts and wallets out of the hides for family and friends. This year was a good one and we got 60. We don't keep anything below 5 1/2 ft.

If you want to see alot of rattlers you need to make it to the Sweetwater Rattlesnake Roundup in Texas! I think it's in April. It has a circus atmosphere, snakes in the barn, circus for kids,crafts...the whole town gets behind it! I don't hunt them but do look for them while dove hunting and scouting.
